In 1988, Washington County Today began as an idea in a restaurant.
KUIK’s mission statement for Washington County Today was simple: “To provide an informative radio program for the people of Washington County.”
The one-hour interview program with Don McCoun, as host, features anything and everyone who makes news. From community theater…to local mayors…high school coaches to state representatives…if it happens in Washington County…the Don will talk about it…and talk to the experts about it.
Exciting and informative guests have included school superintendents, Chiefs of Police, the Mayors of Washington County, and politicians, as well as many small-town folks who help maintain Washington County’s sense of community, such as high school coaches and Washington County Fair directors. Our local schools, libraries, charities, and events like the Oregon International Airshow always provide informative and exciting conversation! Every Friday you are sure to find interesting information and experts from your community….on Washington County Today!
AM-1360 KUIK devotes more time to local issues than most stations, and its community likes it that way. For this reason, KUIK takes pride in its local coverage on Washington County Today, as it is able to serve a local region that is often over-looked by other area media.
Tune to AM-1360 on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. to find out what is going on in Washington County, and you’ll find a wealth of information with a bit of humor to liven up your day.
