Bystanders rescue boy from drowning at North Fork County Park

Four strangers jumped into action to help rescue a 4-year-old boy who was swept down the river at North Fork County Park recreation area in Marion County.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. Sunday. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was standing with his father and siblings next to the water’s edge and ended up in the river after his father looked away for a few moments.
