Traffic Changes to Help Voters Beat Deadline of 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6


Washington County elections officials are asking last-minute voters to drop off their ballots at official collection sites as soon as possible Monday and Tuesday so that all ballots are processed in a timely manner. 

With only two days left in the state's vote-by-mail election period, Washington County has received 141,356 ballots so far, or about 49 percent of all registered voters in the county.

Deadline 8 p.m. Tuesday

The deadline for voting is 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6. To assist with the last-minute rush of voters, county elections officials will collect ballots submitted by the 8 p.m. deadline at several official drop-off sites throughout the county. Official drop-off sites are listed on the county's website at:

Traffic Revisions Planned in Beaverton and Hillsboro

Beginning Monday afternoon and continuing through the evening commute on Tuesday, traffic revisions will be in place in some locations to support safe ballot collection activity for last-minute voters. Other travelers are advised to take alternative routes to avoid these areas throughout the ballot-collection process. The timing and location of these traffic changes include the following:

S.W. Murray Boulevard, Beaverton - The middle turn lane will be closed Monday afternoon along S.W. Murray Boulevard just south of Millikan Way. By Tuesday afternoon, the right-most, northbound lane of S.W. Murray Boulevard may be restricted to ballot drop-off service only. Voters will be encouraged to drop off their ballots at an official collection site in the K-Mart parking lot near the intersection of S.W. Tualatin Valley Highway (Highway 8) and S.W. Murray Boulevard in Beaverton. Drive through ballot collection will also occur at the Washington County Elections Office at 3700 S.W. Murray Boulevard, Beaverton.

S.W. Hall Boulevard, Beaverton - By Tuesday afternoon, the left-most, northbound lane of S.W. Hall Boulevard in Beaverton, just south of Third Street, may be restricted to official ballot drop-off service only. An official ballot drop-off site will also be available in the Beaverton Library at 12375 S.W. 5th Street, Beaverton.

N.E. Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro - By Tuesday afternoon, the right-most lanes for both northbound and southbound traffic on N.E. Brookwood Parkway in Hillsboro may be restricted to official ballot drop-off service only. This official ballot collection site will be located at the lighted intersection near the Hillsboro Main Library at 2850 N.E. Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro.

24-hour Drop-off Sites

Voters may drop off their completed ballots before the 8 p.m. deadline this Tuesday at several 24-hour drop-off sites, including:

Washington County Elections Office, 3700 S.W. Murray Boulevard, Beaverton (Look for the slot in the front lobby.)    
Washington County Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building, 155 N. 1st Avenue, Hillsboro (Look for the drop box near the rear entrance of building.)

Cornelius City Hall, 1355 N. Barlow Street, Cornelius
